Send files straight to your TV device

BEST ROUTE FOR TV DEVICES

LocalSend β€œReceive via link”

LocalSend 1.18+ can turn your NVIDIA Shield, Fire TV or Android TV into a temporary upload page. Your phone or computer then sends files to the TV through its browser β€” the sending device does not need the LocalSend app for this method.

Open LocalSend on the TV

Keep LocalSend open on your NVIDIA Shield, Fire TV or Android TV. Use LocalSend 1.18 or newer.

Choose β€œReceive via link”

LocalSend will show a local web address for the TV. Keep that Receive via link screen open while transferring.

Enter the TV address below

Your sending device must be on the same home network as the TV.

Paste the exact address LocalSend shows on the TV. Phone Hub remembers it on this device for next time.

METHOD 1

Browser β†’ TV

Use the Receive via link address above. This is the easiest way to send from Phone Hub, Safari, Chrome or a computer browser to the TV.

METHOD 2

LocalSend app β†’ TV

Install LocalSend on both devices and use its normal nearby-device transfer. Keep LocalSend open on Android TV while discovering it.

Sending an APK?

Send it like any other file. On the TV, open the received APK with a file manager. Android / Fire OS may ask you to allow installs from that file manager. Only install APKs you trust.

TV not appearing in normal LocalSend discovery?

Keep LocalSend open in the foreground on the TV and make sure both devices are on the same home network. Receive via link can avoid relying on the normal nearby-device discovery list.

Open Evolution Send in a browser on both devices while they are on the same Wi-Fi. The current LocalSend Web project does not yet connect directly to the native LocalSend app.

    Use send.evobm.online in a browser on the sending device and the receiving device.

    Keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi

    Leave the page open. The other browser should appear automatically.

    Tap the receiving device

    Choose a photo, video, document, ZIP or APK and the transfer starts.

ANDROID & FIRE

Install the native LocalSend app

Android phones & tablets

Install LocalSend from Google Play, F-Droid, or the official APK from the LocalSend GitHub releases.

Fire TV / Fire tablets

LocalSend has an official Fire OS listing in the Amazon Appstore. You can also use the official Android APK where sideloading is supported.

Sending APK files

APK files can be transferred like any other file. After receiving one, open it from Downloads or your file manager. Android / Fire OS may ask for permission to install apps from that browser or file manager. Only install APKs you trust.

Native LocalSend app note

Native LocalSend is excellent for app-to-app transfers across Android, Fire OS, iPhone, Windows, macOS and Linux. The upstream LocalSend Web interface currently says native-app support will be added in a future version, so Evolution Send remains browser-to-browser for now.
